Todd Spalti
Todd Spalti is a wood worker and sculptor whose work in cedar reflects a deep reverence for the Earth, living creatures, and the organic patterns found in nature. Originally from Iowa, Todd has lived on Orcas Island for over 35 years, drawn to its peaceful rhythms and ever-present connection to the natural world.
His artistic journey began with the encouragement and inspiration of his mother, sparking a lifelong exploration of form and material. At Orcas Island Artworks—where he has been a contributing artist for over 25 years—Todd showcases sculptures that invite curiosity and quiet reflection. Each piece embodies a balance of structure and spontaneity, often revealing the hidden textures and spirit of the wood.
Though his current work at the gallery focuses on cedar, Todd also works with steel and other materials, always guided by an intuitive response to his surroundings. He values the creative community at Artworks and the opportunity it offers to share his vision in a space surrounded by fellow artists and visitors from near and far.
