Sharon Ho

Sharon Ho handbuilds with porcelain and stoneware clays, using it as the canvas for her nature-inspired ceramic art. Her practice is
contemplative and the gentler pace of pinching and shaping clay imbues a sense of calm in the abstracted weathered surfaces of her work. The forms she creates are ripe with possibility and invite touch and holding.

“Through clay, I explore elements of place and relationships, and a human yearning for touch and connection. It takes time to truly ‘see’ a place or person. I invite you to reflect on the tiny elements and connections that make up your own world.”

Sharon discovered clay as a creative medium after having her first child. She relocated from Singapore to Orcas Island in 2012. The island’s incredible natural landscape and the many hours with her young family exploring tide pools and forest trails led her to art-making to learn about her new environment. She established the Felt + Ceramics Studio|Shop in Eastsound, WA, with a fiber artist in 2014.
